After first being announced back in 2019, it looks as if Zack Snyder's Norse mythology inspired anime is fairly close to being released. It was revealed that the series is titled Twilight of the Gods and features a very diverse voice cast.
Appearing during Thursday's animation-centric edition of Netflix's Geek Week, Snyder stated that Twilight of the Gods is wholly separate from his more recent Netflix project, Army of the Dead (which also has an anime prequel in the works). Said Snyder, "It's my take on Norse mythology and it's really cool. We're doing it with Digital Dimensions who's doing the animation and it's just going to be unlike anything you've ever seen. Because in animation, we can do anything we want, which is so fun...and fun for all of us as the creators involved because we can just go nuts. I think you're going to love it."
In additon to Zack, development on Twilight of the Gods is being spearheaded by his wife Deborah and Zack's Man of Steel storyboard artist Jay Oliva, who recently opened his own animation studio Lex and Otis. Oliva will serve as showrunner and actually has several other anime projects in development at Netflix including Trese and the Army of the Dead anime prequel.
Other than the name of the project, the voice cast and the tease from Snyder, we didn't receive any other news or footage from the project so keep it locked to AnimeMojo for updates on the first trailer and a release date.
