Below, you can see the first key visual for the Occult;Nine anime series which features the main cast standing in a crowd.  Occult;Nine was first released as a light novel series from acclaimed creator Chiyomaru Shikura.

Despite its use of the semicolon, Occult;Nine is not the next entry in the fan coveted Science Adventure series (Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, and Robotics;Notes) from 5pb. The light novel series is actually published by MAGES, the parent company of 5pb.  Back in 20111, a number of companies including Arkray, Seed Project, Dwango Creative School, Animelo Summer Life, 5pb. Records, and 5pb merged under one parent company, Mages. Inc. However, each company continues to funcion as an independent entity.  However, Occult; Nine marks the first time Chiyomaru has released a light novel exclusively under the MAGES moniker and not 5pb.

More details about the anime adaptation will be revealed during a special Twitter event on August 12 which will be conducted by the official Occult;Nine twitter account .

First key visual for Occult: Nine.

The "paranormal science" story follows nine idiosyncratic individuals, linked by the "Chōjō Kagaku Kirikiri Basara" occult summary blog run by 17-year-old second-year high school student Yūta Gamon. Little incongruities that occur around these nine eventually lead to a larger, unimaginable event that may alter what is considered common sense in this world.
