The Overlord TV anime adaptation from Studio Madhouse originally concluded in October 2018 after three seasons (totaling 39 episodes), a 2016 OVA and a two-part 2017 anime film-  leaving most fans to assume that there would be no further anime adaptations after the franchise lay dormant for so long.

However, much to their delight, it was announced that  the isekai adventures of  Ainz Ooal Gown will be continuing on with a fourth anime season.  In addition, a new anime film is also in the works which will tackle the Holy Kingdom Arc of the light novel series.

To commemorate the announcement, so-bin, the artist for the light novel series released the stunning poster below. He also shared his excitement, stating, "At last, Volume 10, one of my particular favorites, is being animated. I sure would love to experience that impression of gobsmacked ickiness I felt when reading the manuscript, now in anime form. Looking forward to it!"

Anime director Naoyuki Ito also chimed in on the upcoming projects, adding, "At last, the fourth season of the anime and the theatrical movie are in production. We are working hard to ensure that the show will be satisfying to both fans of the original versions and those who only follow the anime. You’re going to love it."

The ongoing light novel series from Kugane Maruyama and so-bin was first serialized onine in 2010 and has released 14 volumes to date.

@NateBest - I've only seen a few episodes but I may pick it back up depending on how stacked the summer season is.
