Funimation has announced the English dub for The Detective Is Alread Dead is now available via their official app and streaming service. The anime adaptation consists of 12 episodes and originally aired in Japan on January 20th, 2021.

Kimihiko Kimizuka seems to always be in the middle of awkward and troublesome situations, all of which started when he was quite young.  One year in junior high, he was kidnapped and stumbled accross a woman proclaiming to be a "legendary detective" named Siesta.  She talked him into being her sidekick and together, they solved an innumerable number of cases over the course of 3 years. Kimihiko is now a senior in high school is trying to solve all cases that fall into his lap as he confronts the numerous ghosts from his past. It bothers him that he is called a detective because, after all, the detective is already dead.

The English voice cast includes Austing Tindle (Tokyo Ghoul), Xanthe Huynh (APPARE-RANMAN!), Arryn Zech (RWBY), Kayleigh Mckee (Record of Ragnarok) and Jād Saxton (Fire Force).

The anime series is animated by ENGI and directed by Manabu Kurihara, with Deko Akao writing and Yōsuke Itō in charge of character design. Funimation has secured the license for the series outside of Asia and began streaming the English dubbed anime earlier this year.
