The upcoming action and fantasy anime series The Executioner and Her Way of Life has gotten a new English-subtitled trailer to celebrate the new year, as well as some new artwork and a release date!
The new trailer highlights the voices of Hisako Kanemoto and M.A.O, as well as the opening theme song for the anime series entitled "Paper Bouquet" by Mili from Goblin Slayer. The ending theme "Touka Serenade" will be performed by ChouCho.
The The Executioner and Her Way of Life anime is based upon the light novels of the same name written by Mato Satō and illustrated by Nilitsu. It is being directed by Yoshiki Kawasaki and animated at studio J.C.Staff.
The light novels have also received a manga adaptation illustrated by Ryo Mitsuya. It was serialized in Square Enix's seinen manga magazine Young Gangan since June of 2020 and has been collected into two tankōbon volume
The story takes place thousands of years in the future where the only language is Japanese and four calamaties have befallen the world. It follows Menou, an Executioner responsible for elimnating "Lost Ones", wanderers from an alternative world known as "Japan". Her life changes after she fails to execute Akari - A Lost One who unknowingly possesses the ability to reverse her own death. Unable to kill her, Menou has no choice but to stay with Akari until she can finish the job.
The new series is set to premiere in April of this year (2022).
