Asta is shouting in English again. Crunchyroll has brought back the English dub of Black Clover for the anime's long-awaited second season, ending a five-year gap since the original series wrapped up.
The first dubbed episode of Season 2 went live last week, and Crunchyroll confirmed that new episodes will follow on a weekly basis. In its announcement, Crunchyroll wrote that "After five years away, the English dub of Black Clover officially returns for the second season with weekly episodes on Crunchyroll."

The Crew Behind The Dub
Jason Lord is directing the English dub, with Ryan Negron as assistant voice director. Susie Nixon is producing, and Bonny Clinkenbeard is handling the adaptation. The studio producers are Justin Cook, Michael Harcourt and Nathanael Harrison, with Benjamin Tehrani on adaptation prep, August Cline as engineer and Rickey Watkins as mixer.
Where Season 2 Picks Up
The new season premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo earlier this month (October 3rd) and airs every Saturday at 11:00 p.m. JST. Crunchyroll streams it with subtitles as it airs, so the dub is only a couple of weeks behind the Japanese broadcast.
The season is directed by Ayataka Tanemura, who previously directed the Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King film that was released in Japan in March 2023. WANIMA performs the opening theme, "Kienai Riyu." The official Japanese account also noted that the opening's non-credit video has passed 2.5 million views.
The season is already leaning into nostalgia, too. The official account highlighted that episode 3 used "Grandeur" by Snow Man, which served as one of the first series' opening themes, as an insert song during a big battle scene.
A Quick Black Clover Refresher
Yuki Tabata launched the original manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015 before moving it to Jump GIGA in December 2023. According to Crunchyroll, the series concluded in May 2026 with 37 volumes released in Japan so far. The first anime adaptation, directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara at studio Pierrot, ran from October 2017 to March 2021 for 170 episodes.
For newcomers, Crunchyroll sums up the story this way:
"In a world where magic is everything, Asta and Yuno are both found abandoned at a church on the same day. While Yuno is gifted with exceptional magical powers, Asta is the only one in this world without any."
The original 170 episodes are also streaming on Crunchyroll, which makes now a good time for anyone who fell behind to catch up before diving into the new season.
