Date A Live F Last Date finally has a release date. The final Date A Live anime film will open in Japanese theaters on March 26, 2027, and a new teaser video and the main staff were revealed yesterday during Kadokawa's Fantasia Bunko Grand Thanksgiving Festival 2026 broadcast.
As we covered ahead of the stream, the special program featured Nobunaga Shimazaki (Shido Itsuka), Marina Inoue (Tohka Yatogami), Iori Nomizu (Yoshino), and Asami Sanada (Kurumi Tokisaki). The official account opened its announcement with the film's tagline: "Now, let us begin our last war." Check it out down below:
New Teaser And Main Staff
Kadokawa also posted the new teaser on YouTube, which picked up more than 300,000 views within a day. You can watch it here:
The film's staff list was revealed at the same time. Junji Nishimura is directing, Fumihiko Shimo is writing the script, and Naoto Nakamura is designing the characters. Animation production is by Fugaku, and ANIMEC is handling distribution. Original creator Koushi Tachibana and original illustrator Tsunako are credited as usual.
Shimo is a familiar name for longtime fans, having written scripts for earlier Date A Live seasons, and Nishimura is a veteran director whose credits stretch back decades. Fugaku is a newer name for the franchise, which has moved through several studios since the first season. Here is the staff announcement from the official account:
Tickets, Bonuses, And Events
Advance Mubichike tickets go on sale on October 30, including a set that comes with framed art priced at 7,650 yen. A countdown fair is also planned in the lead-up to the film's release.
The franchise is also marking the end of the anime with the Seirei Memorial exhibition, which runs from April 9 to April 25, 2027, shortly after the film opens. More details on the venue and goods are expected closer to the date.
The End Of A 15-Year Story
The film picks up after the fifth TV season, Date A Live V, which aired in 2024. With Isaac and Mio gone, peace should have returned, but a new disturbance appears in Raziel. It is a fitting setup for a finale, since the story has always been about Shido trying to save the Spirits through dates instead of combat.
Tachibana's light novel series launched under Kadokawa's Fantasia Bunko label in 2011 and ran for 22 main volumes, with Tsunako's character designs becoming a big part of its identity. Yen Press publishes the novels in English. The first anime season premiered in 2013, and the franchise has since run through five TV seasons, the Mayuri Judgment film, and the Date A Bullet spinoff films starring Kurumi.
The TV anime has changed hands several times over the years. AIC PLUS+ animated the first season, Production IMS handled the second, J.C.Staff produced the third, and Geek Toys took over for the fourth and fifth seasons. Fugaku now joins that list as the studio responsible for the grand finale, and fans will be watching the teaser closely for hints of how the new team will handle the Spirits' battles. Crunchyroll has carried recent seasons outside Japan, though no international plans have been announced for the film yet.
Date A Live F Last Date brings that run to a close in theaters, and the Fantasia Bunko event made clear that Tachibana is not slowing down. The same broadcast announced a 2027 TV anime for King's Proposal, his other series with Tsunako.
