Just like regular anime series, a ton of anime films made their way onto the silver screen for all fans to enjoy, be it on a streaming platform or in theaters. As it turns out, Japanese fans have a soft spot for the long-running detective series Detective Conan as its newest film takes the top place in Anime! Anime!'s recent poll.
This time around, the survey pool was rather small, with a meager 313 people responding to the survey. Among them, respondents were flipped, marking a 71.9% female response rate countering its 26.8% male responses. Just like the last survey, the respondents skewed mostly young, with 40.3% identified as under 19, a flat 15% of responses were labeled as between 20 to 25, and 26 to 29-year-olds remained the minority, making up only 12.5% meanwhile the remainder was made up of 30 and over.
During the last poll, it was proven that Lycoris Recoil was the fan-favorite, capturing even the heart of game developer Hideo Kojima. Even so, it seems this time around, more were inclined to stay the course of familiar territory. Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween took the top spot away from Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love ST☆RISH Tours.
The survey's large number of female respondents probably answers how the results played out. The top handful of movies are ones with a sizable female demographic while the rest are movies with too big of a fanbase to really fail like One Piece Film Red and Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Scherzo of Deep Night.
