Hololive is getting a TV anime. Cover Corporation and Kadokawa revealed it during the hololive Next 2026.9.7 livestream on Monday as part of the countdown to the agency’s 10th anniversary. The working keyword is Odeholo. No official title, no episode count, no network, no story. Studio KAI is producing the animation after years of official hololive shorts and music videos.
September 7, 2026 is year nine of Hololive. The 10th anniversary lands September 7, 2027. Odeholo is one of the flagship projects Cover is stacking for that year. The company asked fans to guess what the abbreviation means on X with #Odeholo before the full dump.
That dump is a one-hour YouTube special on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. JST (7:00 a.m. EDT). Momosuzu Nene, Omaru Polka, Yukihana Lamy, and Shishiro Botan appear. Shirakami Fubuki and Ookami Mio host. Visuals, the meaning of Odeholo, and the rest of the pitch are scheduled for that stream on the new Odeholo channel. Official X is @odeholo.
Studio KAI already knows these models. The studio has handled official hololive anime projects and MVs. Studio KAI’s worked on plenty great projects, most recently to name would be Sentenced to Be a Hero. Cover’s line is that the staff already understands the talents and the house look. This is the first time that look is being built as a broadcast series instead of a YouTube extra. holo no graffiti, the long-running 3D gag shorts that started in 2019, stays a different lane. Odeholo is the TV step.
Hololive production is Cover’s VTuber operation: hololive, holostars, and the English and Indonesian branches. Sankei put YouTube subscribers across the operation above 90 million. The agency already sells music, concerts, games, collabs, and the hololive Alternative mix. A weekly TV slot is the piece that still was not on the board.
Kadokawa is on the announcement letterhead next to Cover. The press release still reads as a joint launch. No director, series composer, or character designer was named on Monday. No statement that the four talents on the September 23 stream are the lead cast of the show. They are the talent booked for the reveal program.
What fans do not have yet is the format. Idol slice of life, original story with original designs, or a loosely adapted stream-life comedy are all still guesses. Cover only said the series will gather the charm of the talents who already have global audiences. That sentence fits almost any hololive project. September 23 is when it has to become a premise.
No Crunchyroll or Netflix license was attached to the announcement. No simulcast window. No 2027 cour. The anniversary calendar implies the show is meant to exist inside that celebration year, but Cover did not print a broadcast month.
