Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has grossed more than 5.87 billion yen ($50.7 million US) from 43 million ticket sales in its first 11 days in theaters. To date it is oupacing Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time, which sits atop the 2021 Japanese box office.
The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film is based upon Volume 0 of the manga series. It follows Yuta Okkotsu who enrolls at Jujutsu Tech at the urging of instructor Satoru Gojo. Will first year student Yuta learn to wield cursed energy to free himself of the dangerous spirit of his late childhood friend that's been plaguing him?
On a related note, the Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Tokyo Revengers were the most talked about anime on Twitter.
