The Kaiju No. 8 anime series is still making its way into the 2024 season, but we now have a peek at the official design of the series' human hero!
The picture was released on the official Twitter account for the upcoming series, and it depicts Kafka Hibino, who will be 32 years old when he appears in the anime. Kafka had a childhood fantasy of serving in the military and clearing the world of the enormous monsters he despises. But, he now finds himself working as part of a cleaning team that is responsible for clearing up the aftermath of kaiju conflicts.

The show has previously announced the character Kaiju, with his character visual below! This was the first character visual for the series, which appropriately put the title monster in the spotlight.
The original Kaiju No. 8 manga is serialized in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ digital manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Viz Media. The animation production for Kaiju No. 8 is handled by Production I.G, while Studio Khara is responsible for the creation of monster designs and artworks. Not all of the information regarding the series, including the primary cast members and other significant personnel, has been disclosed as of yet. The eighth season of Kaiju will begin airing in Japan in 2024.

Kafka hopes to one day keep his pact with his childhood friend Mina to join the Japan Defense Force and fight by her side. But while she’s out neutralizing kaiju as Third Division captain, Kafka is stuck cleaning up the aftermath of her battles. When a sudden rule change makes Kafka eligible for the Defense Force, he decides to try out for the squad once more. There’s just one problem—he’s made the Defense Force’s neutralization list under the code name Kaiju No. 8.
