Last month it was announced that the anime adaptation of Platinum End will be premiering in Japan on October 7th, 2021. Today the anime's official Twitter account revealed a new piece of artwork highlighting some of its primary characters, as well as a new trailer for the series (both are included below).
The second trailer shares a bit of the Platinum End story, as well as offers a preview of the anime series opening them, "Sense" by BAND-MAID (Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table). It also includes English subtitles.
"Surrender Theory" ("Kōfuku-ron") will be performed by Yuu Miyashita and will serve as Platinum End's ending theme/song.
The Platinum End cast continues to grow, now includes M.A.O (Fire Force), Natsuki Hanae (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba), Kaito Ishikawa (One-Punch Man), Toshiyuki Morikawa (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation), Tomoaki Maeno (Cells at Work!), Kikuko Inoue (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), Hikaru Midorikawa (SK8 the Infinity) and Ai Kayano (Otherside Picnic) Miyu Irino (Black Clover) is voicing protagonist Mirai Kakehashi and his angel assistant Nasse is voiced by Yui Ogura (Goblin Slayer).
The anime series is an adaptation of the manga series of the same name by Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba, the creators of Bakuman and Death Note. The Platinum End manga series was published in English by VIZ Media and ended earlier this year. The anime series looks to adapt the entire manga in its 24 episodes at studio Signal.MD, with Hideya Takahashi (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) directing.
