A new trailer and some artwork dropped last month for Platinum End, the new anime series from Death Note creators Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.
This week Funimation has announced that Death Note creators' upcoming anime series Platinum End is officially joining their Fall 2021 anime season lineup. They've enven released a new poster to celebrate!
The new anime series from studio Signal.MD (FLCL Progressive) and director Kazuchika Kise (Ghost in the Shell: Arise) is set to begin streaming this month.
Platinum End voice cast includes Miyu Irino (Mob Pshycho 100), Mao Ichimichi (Fire Force), Yui Ogura (Gobline Slayer), and Natsuki Hane (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba).
The anime series is an adaptation of the manga series of the same name by Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba, the creators of Bakuman and Death Note. The Platinum End manga series was published in English by VIZ Media and ended earlier this year.
The anime series looks to adapt the entire manga in its 24 episodes and follows Mirai Kakehashi, a student who attempts to end his life, but is rescued by Nasse, his guardian angel. Nasse has vowed to not only protect him, but also bestows special powers upon him as he is one of 13 candidates that has been chosen by angels to take the role of God, who is preparing to retire.
