The Kept Man of the Princess Knight got a main trailer, a key visual, and both theme songs revealed at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online 2026. MYTH & ROID performs the opening, "TRUE-TABOO." sajou no hana performs the ending, "Gika." The broadcast is still January 2027. BLADE is the studio working on the anime.

The trailer reveals the new opening theme and lets fans listen to it. MYTH & ROID's credit on a fantasy series is the Saga of Tanya the Evil, and Overlord association, the band that already did a military-isekai open people still clip. They have also done a lot of other anime opening and closing themes. sajou no hana's recent ending credit is The Warrior Princess and the Barbaric King. "Gika" is written 偽花, false flower. The official account posted Hisao Ishii's key visual the same morning. Check out the trailer and new visual below:

Three names joined the cast sheet. Rie Takahashi is Vanessa. Tetsu Inada is Dez. Rika Nagae is April. They sit next to the pair already locked: Junichi Suwabe as Matthew, Mikako Komatsu as Arwin. Takahashi is the Megumin voice. Inada is Endeavor. Nagae's recent credit is Makina in Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family! The festival did not add the official episode counts or a specific January day for the debut.

Chihiro Kumano directs. Deko Akao is series composition. Hisao Ishii designs the characters and drew the visual. Taku Iwasaki is on the music. That is a heavier score credit than most dungeon-city light novel anime get. Iwasaki's name on a show about a man the town thinks is a leech is the part of the staff list that does not match the premise's joke.

Toru Shirogane writes the novels. Saki Mashima illustrates them. ASCII Media Works publishes them under Dengeki Bunko. Yen Press has the English editions. The synopsis they give is: Dungeon City runs on crime, debauchery, and death. Arwin, the Crimson Princess Knight, is the exception. She takes a party into the dungeon at the center, hunting a treasure that could rebuild her fallen kingdom. The seat next to her is already taken by Matthew, who the city reads as a coward spending her money on booze, women, and gambling. Nobody, including Arwin, knows what he can actually do.

A later Yen description adds the curse. Tremors hint at a monster stampede. Arwin is still in the dungeon. Matthew goes in after her, through monsters and the sun god's preachers, with a curse that steals his strength when he is out of the sunlight. That is the secret the key visual is pointing at. The kept man is not dead weight. He is on a timer tied to the sun, in a city that has already decided he is scum.

The anime was announced in February 2025. A first teaser in June 2026 put the premiere in January 2027. October's festival drop is the music and the side cast, which is the usual last-lap package before a winter slot gets a date. BLADE has the production. The official account is still asking people to wait a little longer for the broadcast as it is coming soon.

Are you in for the January premiere, or waiting to see if the curse is the whole trick? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
