The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in a Different World as an Aristocrat finally has a month. Kadokawa posted the first main promotional video and first key visual on Friday. Season 2 starts in January. The Japanese PV board writes January 2027. Crunchyroll, which already listed the sequel for 2027 in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS, still has no day-one window inside that month.
The clip is about the job the goddess handed him the first time around and how he is doing it once more. Target: the hero. Sumire Uesaka is Epona Rhiannon, hero of the Rhiannon baronial house. Yusuke Tonozaki is Neusche Gephis, an S-class student on day one at the Royal Knight Academy. Those two names are the new ones. Check out the promo video and key visual below:

Masafumi Tamura directs again at Silver Link. He also did Wise Man’s Grandchild, The Misfit of Demon King Academy, and Two Car. Katsuhiko Takayama is on series composition and scripts again (Two Car, Ange Vierge, The Future Diary). Eri Nagata is back on character designs (Ensemble Stars!, Blade & Soul). Kenichi Kuroda scores it at Lantis. Season 1 split production with Palette.
The story is still Rui Tsukiyo and Reia’s light novel, the same author stack as Redo of Healer. It started on Shosetsuka ni Naro in July 2018. Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko printed it from February 2019. Eight volumes are on sale in Japan. Hamao Sumeragi’s manga has run on Young Ace Up since January 2019. Yen Press has the novels and the manga in English.
Lugh is the world’s top assassin dropped into a noble killer clan. The goddess’s price for the new life is one contract: kill the hero who is supposed to end the world. Season 1, which aired in October 2021, built the house, the girls, the training, and the dual toolkit of modern tradecraft plus local magic. Season 2 putting Epona on the poster means the contract is no longer homework. It is a person with a voice.
The sequel was announced in September 2023. Then it sat. A recap teaser and a 2027 year stamp showed up in April 2026, the same week Crunchyroll added it to a panel slate. Friday’s PV is the first time the show has a month and the hero’s seiyuu in the same package. That is a four-year gap from season 1’s finale to this video, and a five-year-plus wait if January 2027 is the first episode.
No episode count. No cour length. No opening artist. No statement that the academy arc is the whole season. Neusche being S-class on entry is the school-thread flag. Epona is the kill-thread flag. Lugh’s party is the same four names. How those lanes braid is the January problem.
Isekai assassin shows live or die on whether the lead still feels like a professional after the harem and the academy timetable kick in. Tamura and Takayama already ran that mix once. Uesaka as the hero is the new pressure. If the PV’s "target is the hero" card is the season thesis, the show has to let Lugh work the job instead of parking it behind another training montage.
