Studio Ghibli has a big week this week with the release of the first Miyazaki movie in ten years and the announcement of the dates for the opening of the next two Ghibli Park sections, both of which are under the heading of "phase two" of the inauguration of the theme park. New concept pictures of both locations have been released to the public, and to say the park is going to be awesome.. well, we may say that's an understatement!
Mononoke Village and the Valley of Witches will debut on November 1 and March 16. Mononoke Village is renowned for having a hands-on learning center and the opportunity to sample Gohei-mochi, a specialty of the region where the park is located in Aichi prefecture. The European-inspired setting from Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, and other films will come to life in Valley of Witches. This includes the construction of Howl's actual castle!
The first section of Ghibli Park, which is located in the Aichi Commemorative Park outside of Nagoya, opened on November 1, 2022. On August 10, tickets for Mononoke Village will go on sale as a package with Ghibli's Great Warehouse!
