With a release date now set for Suicide Squad Isekai, Warner Bros. Japan is back at the character introductions. Today's trailer introduces Clayface.
Voiced by Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass, Yukio Okumura in Blue Exorcist), Clayface is described as "a struggling movie actor and loquacious, chatty narcissist. A shape-changer made of living clay, he freely changes his appearance in battle."
Like the other characters shown off so far, it appears that Clayface is fairly similar to his comic book counterpart. But with this ragtag group of criminals about to be transported to a world of magic and dragons, who knows how he'll respond.
Directed by Eri Osada at WIT Studio, Suicide Squad Isekai is an anime television series that follows a group of notorious criminals — Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface and King Shark — who have been assembled by Amanda Waller for a secret and dangerous mission. After being sent to a world of swords and magic, orcs and dragons, the team is captured by the Kingdom's soldiers and sent to prison. With just 72 hours until the bomb on their neck explodes, they negotiate with Queen Aldora for their release, but only if they can defeat the hostile Imperial army.
The series synopsis reads:

Warner Bros. Japan confirmed this week that Suicide Squad Isekai will premiere on July 5 at 24:30 JST, effectively July 6 at 12:30 a.m. JST. It will be broadcast on Tokyo MX and BS11, while streaming on ABEMA at the same time. A recent trailer also listed Prime Video as a release platform with Hulu also named among the numerous international streaming options after its initial broadcast. It's also possible that the series could come to Max in the United States since it's home to most DC shows and movies already. Warner Bros. Japan has not yet announced the international streaming details.
Prior to its debut next month, Warner Bros. Japan will be hosting a special Anime Expo panel on July 4th that will feature both Suicide Squad Isekai as well as a first look at the newly announced Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League.
