Tokyopop's Fruits Basket Vol. 5 remained at #1 on the BookScan list of graphic novels sold in bookstores for the week ending October 10. Art Spiegelman's In the Shadow of No Towers actually sold more copies than it did the previous week, but slipped to #3 as Viz's Rurouni Kenshin Vol. 7 raced to the #2 spot. Another Viz title, Bleach Vol. 3, moved up from #11 to #4, while the Dark Horse/Digital Manga title Hellsing Vol. 4 shot up from #33 to #5. Ken Akamatsu's Negima Vol. 3 (from Del Rey) debuted in seventh place and can be expected to move up in next week's standings. Tokyopop had two other books in the top ten ( D.N. Angel Vol. 4 and the shonen ai title Gravitation Vol. 8), as did Viz with Yu Yu Hakusho Vol. 5 at #6 and InuYasha Vol. 19 at #9.

Manga dominated bookstore sales once again with 45 out of the top 50 titles, but Neil Gaiman's 1602 from Marvel made a strong move to the 18th spot, while a Simpsons calendar soared to #13 and Marjane Satrapi's Persepolis hovered just outside the top ten at #11.
