Lycoris Recoil's manga is almost done and is nearing the end. The October issue of Kadokawa's Comic Flapper, flagged September 4, said the Yasunori Bizen and Spider Lily adaptation ends in two chapters.
That run for the manga started in September 2022, the same season the anime finished its first broadcast. Kadokawa shipped volume 9 on August 21. Yen Press is on volume 5 as of June 23. French outlet Manga-news, reading the same magazine note, put the last prepublication in November if the two chapters land on schedule, and guessed a tenth collected volume after that.
This book is an adaptation of the anime, not the other way around. A-1 Pictures made the original series. Shingo Adachi directed. It was his first time in that chair after character design and chief animation work on Sword Art Online and Working!!. Imigimuru designed the cast. Asaura drafted the story. Kimika Onai did the uniforms. The show premiered July 2022. Crunchyroll streamed it with an English dub. Adult Swim's Toonami block ran it in January 2024.
Asaura's Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days novel, the café slice book, passed 250,000 copies in 2022. Six shorts under Lycoris Recoil: Friends are thieves of time. went to Aniplex's YouTube and Crunchyroll in April 2025. Anthologies exist. The Flapper manga was the long monthly recap of the TV story.
Two chapters is a short runway after four years. Monthly magazines often announce the end that way so the last tankobon can close clean. There is no new anime season attached to this notice. The Hawaii café-truck tag at the end of the TV finale is still the last official moving image of the main pair unless something else gets announced later.
English readers are behind the Japanese ones. Five Yen Press volumes versus nine Japanese books means the ending will sit in Japan first. If you are mid-series in English, you have time to read and catch up. If you were waiting for the manga to become the continuing canon past episode 13, two chapters is not a new season. It is the end.
Adachi's original remains the thing people argue about. The manga was how the story stayed on bookstore shelves while the shorts and collabs did the extra work. Comic Flapper closing the adaptation is the print side catching up to a 2022 show.
Are you finishing the last two Flapper chapters, or is the anime still the only Lycoris Recoil you need? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Anime watcher and manga enjoyer. Reader of light novels if I really enjoy a series. Not too picky. If not doing that then I am probably playing video games or working out. I like chocolate milk.
