Last month we got our first peek at Netflix's upcoming Cowboy Bebop, a live-action adaptation of the space western anime classic, as well as learned that Cowboy Bebop is getting it's own original comic book series.
Today we have the first official poster ahead of tomorrow's Tudum online event, which is expected to share the first video footage from the upcoming series. The new key art takes several queues from the original Cowboy Bebop anime, especially when you look at the crew's ship "Bebop" as it soars through the sky. It's all very western-esque, which lends itself well to the source material.
It has been reported that each episode of the live-action adaptation will be an hour long and a second season is already in the works. It's obvious that showrunners André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner plan on spending some more time and expanding the Cowboy Bebop live-action universe.
Yoko Kanno, the composer for the original Cowboy Bebop anime, is confirmed to be returning with original music for the live-action adaptation. Fans of the anime will also be excited to learn that Cowboy Bebop's creator, Shinichiro Watanabe, is serving as a consultant for the live-action series.
The Cowboy Bebop live-action cast includes John Cho (Sulu/Star Trek) as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir (Bushmaster/Luke Cage) as Jet Black, Daniella Pineda (Zia Rodriguez/Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Faye Valentine, Alex Hassell (Translucent/The Boys) as Vicious, and Elena Satine (Louise Ellis/Revenge) as Julia.
The live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation is set to begin streaming on Netflix November 19, 2021.
