OVERLORD IV: New Poster And Trailer Celebrate Upcoming 2022 Anime Release

Ainz Ooal Gowl is set to return in 2022 when Overlord's 4th season hits and we have a new poster and trailer to celebrate the recent announcement!

It's official! Ainz Ooal Gowl and Overlord are set to return next year for a fourth season of its anime series!

If that doesn't get fans of the fantasy/isekai anime excited, the new poster and trailer that were released to celebrate the announcement should turn the hype meter up a notch.

Studio MADHOUSE will be animating and Naoyuki Itou is returning to direct. The music will be composed by Yukie Sugawara and Satoshi Tasaki is handling character design.

It has also been announced that there is an Overlord film in the works that will adapt the Holy Kingdom story arc from the light novels.

As if a fourth season and a movie aren't enough, it's also been anounced that a 2D side-scrolling action game, Overlord - Escape from Nazarick, is in the works for Nintendo Switch and Steam for PC. The video game features an original story from Overlord author Kugane Maruyama that sees gamers playing as Clementine in her escape from Nazarick.

The first three seasons of Overlord are currently available and streaming on Funimation with all episodes available in English subtitled and English dubbed versions!

The Overlord anime is an adaptation of the Japanese light novels of the same name. The light novels are written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin and there is also a manga adaptation by Satoshi Oshiothe and illustrated by Hugin Miyama.

The story follows DMMORPG Momonga, the guild leader Ainz Ooal Gown, the strongest guild in YGGDRASIL, after the game servers are shutdown after an intense twelve-year run. He is teleported to another reality where the NPCCs are sentient and he is now trapped in his avatar!
