Funimation's Summer 2021 anime lineup is in full swing and they've released the official trailer for The Detective Is Already Dead anime adaptation. The new trailer is English subbed and available below!

After thwarting a hijacking with beautiful, silver-haired detective Siesta, Kimihiko leads a life of globe-trotting and crime-solving—until Siesta dies. A year later, a new case will open old wounds as it threads murder, conspiracy, and his dead partner!

The Detective Is Already Dead anime is an adaptation of the original Japanese light novel series written by Nigojū and illustrated by Umibōzu, which was originally published in November of 2019. It consisted of five volumes. A manga adaptation  was illustrated by Mugiko in May of 2020 and serialized in Media Factory's seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive.

The anime adaptation consists of 12 episodes and originally aired in Japan on January 20th, 2021. The anime series is animated by ENGI and directed by Manabu Kurihara, with Deko Akao writing and Yōsuke Itō in charge of character design. Funimation has secured the license for the series outside of Asia and began streaming the English dubbed anime earlier this year.
