Following its spotlight at the Nintendo Direct presentation, Farmagia — a new monster-farming and action game from Marvelous USA and XSEED Games — received an additional trailer that revealed some more exciting news. A new anime series based on the game is coming soon.

The announcement was teased briefly at the very end of the trailer and, unfortunately, no other details were revealed.

Farmagia features a mixture of monster-farming and action gameplay, and perhaps more excitingly, character and monster designs from artist Hiro Mashima, creator of Fairy Tail and Edens Zero. We don't know if Mashima will be involved with the anime series, but seeing as how he has a major role in the designs of the characters and monsters, I assume he will have at least some involvement with the project

In the world of Felicidad farmers known as Farmagia raise and command monsters, who live in harmony under the watchful eye of the Magus Diluculum. This peace brought prosperity to the land until the death of the Magus, which drew opportunists seeking to use monsters to seize power for themselves. The spreading conflict reaches the town of Centvelt, forcing resident Farmagia Ten and his friends to join the battle against the despotic new ruler Glaza. Players will take the role of Ten and his fellow Farmagia friends, cultivating and commanding an army of home-grown monsters as they explore Felicidad's treacherous lands, searching for valuable resources to improve their farm. As Ten’s skill and farm improve, he’ll have access to more monsters to nurture and new traits to aid him in his fight for freedom!

Farmagia is set to arrive on November 1, 2024, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. The game will be available digitally on all platforms with a physical Day One Edition available for the Nintendo Switch and PS5 for $59.99 through participating retailers and the XSEED Games Store. The Day One Edition includes a copy of the game, a soundtrack CD featuring 23 colorful arrangements from the game, and a 90-page artbook. All of this comes housed within an outer box covered with a new illustration from Hiro Mashima.

As a newly announced game, you may not know much about Farmagia; but, Hiro Mashima is one of the most respected manga artists in the industry. He gained success with his first serial Rave Master, but his most successful work is Fairy Tail. Published from 2006 to 2017 in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine, Fairy Tail has over 72 million copies in print, making it one of the best-selling manga series ever.

An anime series adaptation of Fairy Tail was created by A-1 Pictures, Dentsu Inc., Satelight, Bridge, and CloverWorks and broadcast in Japan from October 2009 to March 2013. A second series was broadcast from April 2014 to March 2016, with a third and final series airing from October 2018 to September 2019.

Again, we don't know how involved Hiro Mashima is with the Farmagia anime series, but his designs from the game should at least come to life in the series.
