Aniplex of America put the English-subtitled main trailer up on Tuesday and parked the show on OceanVeil. Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! (Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru!) streams there starting Saturday, the same night it debuts in Japan.
The TV run hits Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV. Tokyo MX lists the premiere at 24:30 on October 3, which is 12:30 a.m. on October 4 Japan time. d Anime Store and AnimeFesta will carry both cuts in Japan from Saturday: the "on air" version and the "unrestricted" version. OceanVeil is the North American simulcast. The broadcast gets a TV edit. The paid apps get the version that does not.
Muchimaro draws the four-panel manga. It launched in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2022. Volume 13 shipped August 17. By September 2026 the series was past 2.7 million copies in circulation. It won the print category of the ninth Next Manga Awards in 2023. An animated ad ran in July 2024. The TV anime was announced in April 2025, produced by Aniplex.
Seven Seas publishes the English books. Volume 1 shipped September 8. Volume 2 is December 8. K MANGA has the digital chapters. Seven Seas' flap copy is the cleanest pitch in English. Mizunoe Ume joins the student council so he does not repeat a grade. The room is full of weirdos: an airhead, someone scary, someone secretly a pervert, all of them oddly cute. The publisher calls it charming, quirky, and a little bit naughty. That last clause is why the unrestricted cut exists.
Passione is animating it. Naoyuki Tatsuwa directs, with Omuro-ke, Gourmet Girl Graffiti, Nisekoi, and Promise of Wizard on the resume. Ryo Imamura, who designed ONIMAI: I'm Now Your Sister!, is on character designs and chief animation direction. Masahiro Yokotani is series composition and scripts. His list runs from Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! to Re:ZERO, Beelzebub, and The Devil Is a Part-Timer!
The rest of the desk of staff members is Hiromichi Ito on art direction, Arisa Komatsu on color design, Junpei Takatsu on photography, Michi Takigawa on editing, and Satoshi Motoyama on sound. Tomoki Kikuya writes the music. Main animators listed with the production are Kay Yu, Kona Ming, Asatoshi Oki, mockingbird, SanzashiAme, and Mushiki.
The cast is a magazine-comedy lineup. Shogo Sakata is Mizunoe Ume. Haruka Shiraishi is Hisako Kotobuki. Miyu Tomita is Komaro Michinoku. Hiyori Kono is Tan Otori. Shizuka Ishigami is Arisu Terui. Yumi Uchiyama is Satomi Hiratsuka.
Sangatsu no Phantasia performs the opening, "Kaze no Naka wa Hashirukkya Inai" ("You Just Gotta Run Through the Wind!"). Akari Nanawo performs the ending, "Pi."
OceanVeil is Aniplex of America's streaming service for this kind of show. A Weekly Shonen Magazine 4-koma that wins a Next Manga Award is not a late-night original no one has heard of. It is a running gag strip with enough sales to get a Passione series, a TV slot, and a second cut that the broadcast will not air. English readers already have volume 1. The anime is the version that has to decide, episode by episode, what stays in the Tokyo MX edit.
If you only know the title from the Seven Seas cover, the anime is the test of how naughty "a little bit naughty" gets once it is animated. The on-air cut will answer one way. OceanVeil and AnimeFesta will answer the other.
