Unfortunately for anime fans, Netflix didn't release a trailer for their upcoming Cowboy Bebop live-action adaptation during this last weekend's TUDUM global fan event.
They did, however release a new video revealing the opening credits and title sequence for the upcoming series, which is set to begin streaming on Netflix November 19th, 2021.
The video, included below, is sure to leave Cowboy Bebop fans with an opinion (one way or the other), but one thing that can't be denied is that it was obviously inspired by the original anime's opening sequence. It even includes an updated version of Yikan Kano's iconic Cowboy Bebop score from the anime series!
The Cowboy Bebop live-action cast includes John Cho (Sulu/Star Trek) as Spike Spiegel, Mustafa Shakir (Bushmaster/Luke Cage) as Jet Black, Daniella Pineda (Zia Rodriguez/Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Faye Valentine, Alex Hassell (Translucent/The Boys) as Vicious, and Elena Satine (Louise Ellis/Revenge) as Julia.
Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka cowboys, all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.
