Ascendance of a Bookworm is getting Part 4. The official site and the anime account posted it Saturday: a TV adaptation of Miya Kazuki's "Founder of the Royal Academy's So-Called Library Committee," in production at WIT Studio. It continues from Adopted Daughter of an Archduke. No premiere date came with the post.
The timing is the end of Part 3. That season premiered April 4, 2026, on Yomiuri TV and NTV at 5:30 p.m. JST, and ran two cours. It ended Saturday. Crunchyroll has it with subs and a dub, along with the earlier seasons. The sequel announcement landed as the half-year run closed, which is the cleanest way to say the academy arc is next instead of a hiatus with no name on it.
WIT Studio stayed on and is working on the project more. Part 3 was already the studio handoff from the earlier production. Yoshiaki Iwasaki directed that season, replacing Mitsuru Hongo, with Kowloon Generic Romance and Hayate the Combat Butler on his list. Mariko Kunisawa wrote the scripts. Aiko Minowa designed the characters. Michiru did the music. Saturday's post does not lock that desk for Part 4. It locks the studio, and it shows an ending-card illustration by You Shiina, the novel artist. "More news later" is the rest of the tweet.
J-Novel Club publishes the English light novels. The Part 4 volume-one copy is the premise the anime just signed up for. Rozemyne wakes from a two-year sleep into a world that does not match the one she left. She does not get to sit with that. Enrollment at the Royal Academy is waiting, as an archduke candidate. The curriculum is mana control, magic tools, and the magic required to rule. The part title is the joke and the plot. She founds a library committee because the academy's shelves are not good enough, and she is still the girl who would overthrow a duchy for a book.
Urano Motosu, a bookworm who dies in a quake, wakes as Myne in a world where commoners do not own paper. The early anime, which opened in October 2019 and closed that December at 14 episodes, is her inventing a way to read anyway: clay tablets, plant paper, a workshop, a temple that notices the mana. Later parts move her into nobility under a new name. Yuka Iguchi has been Rozemyne since the rename. Show Hayami has been Ferdinand, the priest who keeps having to manage a child with too much mana and no sense of political cost. Part 3's new voices included Yukari Tamura as Georgine, Mami Koyama as Veronica, Minami Takayama as Florencia, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Bonifatius, Nao Toyama as Angelica, and Asami Seto as Brigitte.
Part 4 is the school story the title has been walking towards. An archduke candidate in a classroom is a different machine than a shrine maiden hiding a printing press. The academy has its own factions, its own mana ranking, and a library that, in the novels, is neglected enough that Rozemyne treats fixing it as a personal emergency. J-Novel's blurb stops at the enrollment. The part title tells you what she does with the first free afternoon.
The 2019 season proved the books could be a show without a battle every episode. Part 3 proved WIT could carry the noble-adoption arc for half a year and still get a sequel announced on the finale weekend.
