FIRST LOVE MONSTER Anime Sets Premiere Date And Announces Cast

First Love Monster (Hatsukoi Monster) will premiere during the Summer anime season with an opening theme song performed by Aoi. Yui Horie voices series heroine, Kaho Nikaidō.

A highly anticipate shojo anime adaptation will be premiering this July.   The anime adaptation of Akira Hiyoshimaru's First Love Monster manga will premiere on July 02.   Studio DEEN heads up animation duties with Takayuki Inagaki directing and Mariko Oka providing character designs.  Yui Horie voices series lead Kaho Nikaido.  Takahiro Sakurai plays Kanade Takahashi.  Showtaro Morikubo portray's Kanade's best friend, Tomu Kaneko.  Kaito Ishikawa voices Atsushi Taga.  Hikaru Midorikawa portrays Daikoku Nikaidō, Kaho's elder brother.  

Hiyoshimaru began the manga in 2013 and it's currently ongoing in the Japanese manga magazine,  ARIA.  To date, the series has six volumes published. 


Nikaidou Kaho is a daughter of a rich family and her whole life everyone's been nice to her. When moving to her new high school dormitory, she almost gets hit by a truck but is saved by a boy. It's love at first sight for Kaho but when asking him his name, he tells her she's weird. Kaho is shocked since it's the first time anyone's ever said mean things to her. Soon enough, she finds out that the boy who saved her lives in the same dormitory and so she bravely confesses her love. The boy says his name is Kanade and agrees to go out with her. Unfortunately, the following day Kaho finds out that her first boyfriend is a 5th grader.
