Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training- is a new movie from the Demon Slayer franchise that opened in 375 theaters throughout Japan on February 2nd, 2024. The 103-minute film includes the 11th episode from the "Swordsmith Village Arc" and the first episode of the upcoming "Hashira Training Arc". During its first three-day weekend from February 2nd-4th, the movie earned 647 million yen (4.35 million USD) on 443,700 admissions and made its #1 debut in the weekend box office ranking, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha.
This opening weekend gross was about 55.8 percent of the previous compilation film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village-, which was released in February of 2023 and earned 1.159 billion yen (7.8 million USD) in its first three-day weekend.
Aniplex of America, Crunchyroll, and Sony Pictures Entertainment will release Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training- in North American theaters, including IMAX and premium large formats (PLFs), starting February 23, with other global theatrical dates as well.

The film dropped one spot to second place after making its first-place debut last weekend. The film earned 1,965,922,900 yen (13.24 million USD) on 1,215,558 admissions in ten days since its January 26th release, becoming the fastest film released in 2024 to break the one million mark.
The live-action film adaptation of Golden Kamuy, based on Satoru Noda's adventure manga, dropped one position to third In its third weekend of release. The film's official Twitter account confirmed the movie made 1.63 billion yen (10.98 million USD) on 1.11 million admissions in 17 days since its release on January 19.
SPY x FAMILY CODE: White, the first feature film from the SPY x FAMILY anime franchise, remained in fourth place during its seventh weekend. Its cumulative total gross has almost reached 5.7 billion yen (38.36 million USD) on 4.23 million admissions.
Godzilla Minus One moved up two spots to eighth place in its 14th weekend. The film's official Twitter account reported that its cumulative total domestic gross reached 5.73 billion yen (38.56 million USD) on 3.72 million admissions in 94 days by February 5 (including the gross from its black-and-white edition, Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color). It has now become the top-grossing Japanese live-action film that opened in Japan in 2023, surpassing Kingdom: Unmei no Honoo which made 5.6 billion yen.
Kitaro Tanjou: GeGeGe no Nazo, the film celebrating the 100th anniversary of the GeGeGe no Kitaro original manga author Shigeru Mizuki's birth, disappeared from the top 10 in its 12th weekend.
