Crunchyroll has released some new information for the upcoming movie That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond, including a new poster and teaser trailer. This well-liked magical journey debuts in theaters on January 18 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, January 19 in Australia, January 20 in the United States and Canada, and January 26 in Mexico. Mikami, a typical working man, gets wounded by an unknown assailant and resurrected in a new and different reality. He is reborn as a slime creature and re-named Rimuru Tempest. Initially, things for him look pretty grim and depressing. He’s very weak, totally blind and deaf. But by combining his two new special abilities, “Predator” and “Great Sage,” the newly named, Rimuru Tempest, will use his blobby, magical powers to gain both friends and foes alike in this diverse new worldly dimension. Rimuru Tempest developes into a Demon Lord, meets a survivor of the Ogre species named Hiiro, and an epic adventure that is packed with new characters and places begins. A long-running conspiracy is swirling over a mysterious power wielded by the Queen in Raja, a small country just west of Tempest. The first light novel volume of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime was initially released in 2014 after being serialized online in 2013. Since then, seventeen volumes have been released. Three manga spin-offs were also published by Micro Magazine and Kodansha, along with a manga adaptation by Kodansha. In October 2018, Eight Bit's adaptation of an anime television series debuted. The anime series' second season premiered in January 2021.
