About The New Gate

The New Gate is a series of Japanese light novels authored by Shinogi Kazanami and illustrated by Kazuhiro Miwa. The novel was first serialized online in 2013 on the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō. AlphaPolis picked it up for print publication in 2014. The series has also been adapted into a manga by Yoshiyuki Miwa.

The New Gate's plot revolves around Shin, a powerful player who finds himself trapped in a fantasy MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game).

Unlike other Isekai stories, Shin has already cleared the game and defeated the final boss, freeing himself and the other players from the game. But instead of returning to the real world, Shin wakes up in a different world within the game, 500 years into the future.

In this new world, Shin explores the vast changes that have occurred, discovers that the descendants of the other players regard him as a legend, and encounters new friends and foes. Despite his overwhelming power, he chooses to live his new life with humility and kindness, helping those around him and seeking a way to live peacefully in this familiar yet different world.
