DEMON SLAYER THE MOVIE MUGEN TRAIN: The Newest Film Has Become the Highest Grossing Film In Japan Ever

Fans in Japan have been really lucky to watch one of the best anime films to hit theaters in years, Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train, and it shows. It has now become the biggest film in Japan ever!

Japan has always been known to put out some of the best animated features to ever grace the silver screen. While there have been more modern anime films that have been released like Weathering with You and Your Name, Its crowning achievement has been films that come from Studio Ghibli.

From My Neighbor Totoro to Kiki's Delivery Service, Studio Ghibli has put out some of the most powerful and heartfelt films ever to have been made and to top it off, the animation is consistently sublime. One such film has even sat at the top of the hill as the highest-grossing film ever in Japan, Spirited Away. Sadly, that title has been taken by a new film.

Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train is a film that picks up where the first season of the series left off and, much like the manga, has become an unprecedented hit. The manga of the series, much like its animated adaption, has become one of the highest sold series ever, and now, its latest film has officially become the highest-grossing film in Japan ever!

While Spirited Away grossed a total of 30.8 billion yen, Mugen Train has been confirmed to have earned 32.47 billion yen! Did you see the movie? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
