The
official twitter acount for Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters went live today, offering a first look at some of the main characters. We get our first look at what is assumed to be the human protagonist, who is seen wearing a Digivice. There's also a few Digimon glimpsed, including what appears to be a Black Gatomon or possibly a Gumdramon. More details about the multimedia project from Bandai, Bandai Namco Entertainment, and Toei Animation (which will include a video game, anime, mobile game, and toys) will be announced tomorrow at the International Tokyo Toy Show 2016.
The key to the anime's story are smartphone apps that many people around the globe are using. Inside these apps, AI life forms called "app monsters" or nicknamed "appmon" are hiding.
