Digimon Story Time Stranger is getting a full expansion, not another three-pack of side episodes. Bandai Namco Entertainment showed A Hero’s Eternal Legacy in the State of Play stream. It lands in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The trailer slate lists every platform the base game already occupies.
The new story starts three years after the Agents and the Olympos XII finished the war over the laws of time. That fight saved the human world and Digital World: Iliad. A keeper of time reset the record and wiped the conflict from history. Peace holds for a while. Then a new threat shows up on the life they already paid for. The world tree is reborn and fused with the gears of time. The person holding that mess is a young boy who inherits the last hero’s line. Bandai’s copy calls him a new protagonist. The trailer does not name him. Check out the trailer below:
Japanese materials title the pack 英雄の遺志. Same jump, same year, same "brand-new story." Footage shows riding Digimon across a wide Digital World map. That is the DigiRide hook the live game already sold, now pointed at new ground. About 50 extra Digimon are coming. Bandai said the roster details drop later. No price. No exact month. No word on whether your old farm and party carry over.
Time Stranger itself shipped October 2, 2025 on PS5 and Xbox, October 3 on Steam. Media.Vision developed it. Switch and Switch 2 versions arrived July 9 and 10, 2026, with a quality mode and a performance mode on Switch 2. The game is a raise-and-fight RPG: collect Digimon, digivolve them, push a story that cuts between the human side and Iliad.
The season pass was the first paid layer, and it is a different product. Three Additional Digimon & Episode Packs sat in that pass.
- Pack 1, Alternate Dimension, December 8, 2025: BlitzGreymon, CresGarurumon, Omnimon Zwart, Omnimon Alter-S, Omnimon Alter-B, plus an episode with Kyoko Kuremi and Kodai Kuremi. Steam listed it at $11.99.
- Pack 2, GAKU-RAN: BanchoMamemon, BanchoLillymon, BanchoGolemon, BanchoStingmon, Omnimon Merciful Mode.
- Pack 3, Anti-ParadoX, March 11, 2026 (March 12 in Japan): Omnimon, Jesmon, Magnamon, Gallantmon, and UlforceVeedramon, all X Antibody.
Those packs added side doors and Mega routes. Sixteen extra Digimon across the three. A Hero’s Eternal Legacy is the post-credits chapter with a new lead and a 50-mon dump. Digital Ultimate already bundled the season pass, costumes, and early Agumon and Gabumon. This expansion was not in that bundle when Bandai posted the trailer.
No new partner name. No boss list. No confirmation the Olympos XII walk back on screen. The pitch is the time skip, the boy, the tree stuck in the clockwork, and a farm that grows by fifty. If you already finished Iliad, this DLC will be the reason to boot back up that old save file.
