New DIGIMON TV Anime Series And Film On Their Way!

A new TV anime series for Digimon has been announced for this fall and the good news keeps coming as a new Digimon film has been announced for 2022!

Great news for Digimon fans out of this weekend's DigiFes 2021 special event that was held in Japan over the weekend! A new Digimon anime TV series, as well as a new film, are in the works and the anime series is set to land sooner than you think!

A new teaser poster (included below) was released during the event announcing Ghost Game, the new Digimon anime TV series scheduled to hit in October of this year! The teaser artwork/visual featuers new Digimon Angoramon, Gammamon, and Jellymoon. The tagline reads "Holograms...? Ghosts...?"

No word on cast or staff yet for the new anime, but it has been confirmed that Toei Animation will be animating the series.

During the vent it was also announced that a new Digimon anime film, Digimon Adventure 02, will be released in 2022. The new film will see director Tomohisa Taguchi and writer Akatsuki Yamatoya teaming up again. Their last Digimon film, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna, was released in 2020. Producer Yosuke Kinoshita has also confirmed the return of Daisuke (Davis) for the upcoming film.

They were pretty tight-lipped regarding the new film, but they did release some teaser artwork, as well as a short easer video, both of which are included below. The taglines from the new teaser visual reads, "The new film is about 02. Now the gate to adventure opens. I'm the very first person to have partnered with a Digimon."
