In 2016, Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu started the now iconic manga series, The Promised Neverland, in the pages of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. For four years, the series was being released until ending earlier this year; however, there has been an equally successful anime adaption that has also been released.
The story centers around three children as they escape an orphanage after discovering its truth is far more dangerous than they could have expected. The story has been so engaging that a live-action film has also been announced!
A new trailer has recently been released that looks to bring some of the best moments of the early chapters to life and has cast perfect likenesses of the characters and has even mastered the overall feeling of foreboding that the book has so masterfully contained. The trailer also looks to include the film's official theme song "Tadashiku Narenai" (It Can't Be Right) by Zutto Mayonaka de Iinoni!
There is still al to uncover before the film's December release date but will the film live up to the expectations? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below, and don't forget to check out the new trailer!
Emma, Norman and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes and the perfect environment to learn—what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing.
The Promised Neverland will release in Japan on December 18th!
