Crunchyroll is rolling out a new way for subscribers to enjoy all their favorite anime on-the-go. While they already offer mobile apps for both Android and iOS alongside tablets and consoles, they never tried tackling the Nintendo Swtich until now.
The CR team announced earlier this month that subscribers will now be able to download an official Crunchyroll app on their Nintendo Switch, allowing fans to watch shows not only while its docked to their TV, but also while it's not docked in the palm of your hands or in tabletop mode.
What's more, fans also can stream content offline on the app thanks to Crunchyroll intergrating Epic Games' Unreal Engine technology. This boost to Nintendo's flagship console is certainly a welcome one for those tired of the Switch's lack of non-gaming related apps. While they certainly have their fair share, with Funimation, Hulu, and YouTube taking the front seat, there are still plenty of other apps that could be intergrated with the Switch's fundemental accessibility.
Granted, even with their inclusion, they still fall well behind the competition, but hey, if it means shows like Attack on Titan, Ranking of Kings, and One Piece can be enjoyed on an otherwise boring bus trip, that's still a win for the Switch owners out there.
