VIZ Media announced that readers of the WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP will have a brand new way to acces the popular magazine. Readers can now access individual issues of the WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP directly through Google Play. Previously they had to go through the VIZ Manga app or the Adroid based WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP app. The also announced that readers will have access to the previous months magazines as well through Google Play.
Andy Nakatani, Editor-in-Chief of WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP had this to say about the expansion announcement. “WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP is the world’s most widely read manga publication for both emerging as well as established hit series and it has helped launch scores of the genre’s greatest series in the world. Google Play is one of the web’s most popular destinations for a wide variety of digital entertainment and we invite readers to explore all of the exciting fresh manga content contained in each week’s new issue.”
