Fans of the popular seinen anime The Rising of the Shield Hero will have to wait until next month for the English dubbed season 2 finale, but a new poster and trailer have been released by Crunchyroll that should get you ecxited! The English dubbed The Rising of the Shield Hero season 2 finale will premiere Wednesday, July 27th at 5:00pm ET (2:00pm PT). The Japanese finale begins streaming next week, almost a month earlier, on June 29th at 9:00am ET (6:00am PT).
On April 6, the second season of the anime had its world premiere on the AT-X channel. The release of the anime had been previously pushed back, as it had been originally scheduled to debut in October of 2021.
Masato Jinbo, director of Chaos;Child and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz!, has taken over directing duties for the second season after Takao Abo's departure. Keigo Koyanagi (Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars) returns for the overall composition of the series. Masahiro Suwa (Chaika the Coffin Princess) is once again adapting the original character designs created by Seira Minami for use in the anime. Kevin Penkin has returned as well to contribute to the musical composition of the series.
"Bring Back," which was performed by MADKID, is the opening theme song for the second season, and "Yuzurenai," performed by Chiai Fujikawa, is the concluding theme song.
The first season of the anime television series Rising of the Shield Hero aired for a total of 25 episodes throughout the course of its run, which began in January 2019 with a two hour long special. Crunchyroll has been streaming the series simultaneously with its broadcast in Japan. At the Crunchyroll Expo that took place in September 2018, Crunchyroll presented the world premiere of the first English dubbed episode, which featured special guests from the anime.
Back in 2019, Crunchyroll made the exciting announcement that the well watched anime would be receiving a second and third season.
