After War Gundam X is turning 30, and Bandai is celebrating with one of its fanciest Gundam Card Game products yet. The Gundam Card Game Premium Goods Set for After War Gundam X, also known as PB04, is now available to order on a first-come, first-served basis through Premium Bandai.
The set was originally offered through a chance-to-buy drawing in the United States, but now any remaining stock is open to everyone while supplies last.
What Comes In The Gundam X Premium Goods Set
This is a collector-focused bundle built for players who want their table to show off their love of the series. According to the product listing, each set includes:
- A card case with a separator
- 70 card sleeves
- 10 Resource cards, one each of 10 designs
- 4 cards, two each of two designs
- A rubber play mat
- A storage box
In the United States, the set is priced at $89.99 and is scheduled to ship in May 2027. In Japan, it sells for 9,900 yen and is slated for March 2027. Orders are being handled through the Premium Bandai stores for the United States, Australia and New Zealand, and Asia.
The earlier U.S. drawing selected 2,850 potential buyers, each limited to one set, so the first-come, first-served window is a second shot for fans who missed out or did not win. Since these premium sets tend to disappear quickly, anyone interested should move fast.
A Big Anniversary For An Underrated Gundam
After War Gundam X first aired in 1996 and was the third and final entry in the trio of alternate universe Gundam shows from the 1990s, following Mobile Fighter G Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. It takes place in a world devastated by a colony drop, where a teenage scavenger named Garrod Ran meets a mysterious girl named Tiffa Adill and ends up piloting the powerful Gundam X.
The series was cut short during its original broadcast, but it has built a devoted following over the years thanks to its post-apocalyptic setting, its focus on Newtypes and its iconic Satellite Cannon. It has gotten a lot of love during its 30th anniversary, with an official anniversary site rolling out new products for longtime fans.
For collectors, that makes a premium set like PB04 a natural fit. The series is remembered for designs like the Gundam X itself and its successor, the Gundam Double X, along with a cast of Vultures, pirates and Newtypes roaming the wreckage of Earth. Fans who have only seen clips of the Satellite Cannon firing now have a good excuse to finally go back and watch the full run.
It is also not the only 1990s Gundam series hitting 30. Gundam Wing recently wrapped up its own anniversary, which ended with a Pizza Hut exclusive collaboration.
The Gundam Card Game Keeps Growing
The Gundam Card Game launched as Bandai's big push to bring the franchise to the trading card game space, letting players build decks around mobile suits and pilots from across the Gundam timeline. Premium sets like this one are aimed at fans who want themed accessories to match their favorite series, and Gundam X's look translates nicely to a playmat.
The franchise as a whole is having a busy stretch, too. Beyond the card game, new anime projects are on the way, including Gundam RG Xarx Zero, which debuts in April 2027.
Will you be picking up the After War Gundam X Premium Goods Set, or is there another Gundam series you would rather see get this treatment?
