Akira Headed For Big Screen Live Action

Thanks to Warner Bros. and Leonardo DiCaprio the anime film Akira will be adapted to live action for a big screen debut.

Based on the anime film Akira from 1988 Leonardo DiCaprio's is set to produce Akira with Gary Whitta hired on as writer and Greg Silverman is overseeing for Warners.

Akira has long been a staple anime film co-written and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo. Set in the future in Toyko 2019 a teen from a biker gang becomes involved with government experiments and is set upon destroying the city.
