Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside is based on the Japanese fantasy light novel written by Zappon and drawn by Yasumo. The 13-episodes of Season 1, jointly animated by Wolfs Bane and Studio Flad, were first broadcast from October 6 to December 29, 2021. All episodes are currently available on Crunchyroll. The broadcast schedule and other information for Season2 will be made known at a later date.

The series tells the story of Gideon Ragnason, who was a member of the Hero's Party, a potent organization founded by his sister Ruti and destined to rid the world of evil, in a world where people's fates are determined by the Divine Blessings they get at birth. With the common ability to survive in any environment provided by his Blessing, he demonstrates how the potential of extra talents might be increased. That is, until Ares, the Party's second-in-command, decides that he is a burden to the other party members and exiles him. Ares' advice is taken to heart, and Gideon leaves without telling Ruti.

Gideon relocates to a border town, changes his name to Red, and establishes an apothecary in the hopes of leading a simple life on the frontier. A lovely adventurer from his past named Rit arrives up and wishes to move in with him, so keeping his old status a secret might not be as easy as he thinks!
