A reader recently asked Manga creator Kenjirou Hata (and other creators) what they'd like to try in 2017 issues of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. In respones to the qyuestion Hata answered, "New series."
This year after a brief hiatus, Hata resumed his Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku!) manga in the same magazine and since the manga is now in its final arc, it appears Hata is ready to move on to his next adventure.
Hata first released Hayate the Combat Butler in the Weekly Shonen Magazine way back in 2004. Since the launch of the manga there have been four anime seasons in 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2013. Not to mention there was a three-episode OVA in 2014. All of that success inspired 2011's Hayate the Combat Butler! Heaven Is a Place on Earth anime film. Crunchyroll streamed all four series and Bandai Entertainment secured the license and released the first series in 2009.
With all the success that Hata has had creating stellar manga it will be great to see what he comes out with next!
