The 12th edition of Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine for this year is already listed on Amazon, and the listing makes clear that Shuuichi Shigeno's MF Ghost manga will resume when the issue is released on February 20.
In November 2022, the manga was put on hold because of Shigeno's failing health.

Don't know much about MF Ghost? Here's a quick outline of the plot so far! MF Ghost is based in the year AD 202X. Electric-Grid Autonomous mobility solutions have replaced the traditional internal combustion, steering-wheeled cars on the roads. In Japan, underground traditional races are still held on the mostly-empty side roads that weave together the abandoned towns of Kanto. The most important of these Japanese races, is MFG. Kanata Rivington, age 19, has graduated from a top racing school in the UK and come to Japan in order to join MFG, also in search of his lost father...

In September 2017, Shigeno (Initial D) debuted the MF Ghost manga in Weekly Young Magazine. On January 6, the 16th compiled volume arrived in Japan. The manga is being published in English by Comixology and Kodansha USA Publishing.

Kodansha USA Publishing describes the new story:

The author of Initial D has roared back onto the track with another hit! In a near future where cars have mostly switched over to sustainable power, combustion engine racing is a rarity. The MFG is the last major race for this dying breed, and half-Japanese Kanata Rivington has come back to try his luck. But that's not all he's come to Japan to do...he's searching for his father, too. Can even the ambitious Kanata accomplish all he's set out to do?

The manga is set to have a television adaptation made for it and is set to premiere sometime in 2023. No official date has been released for it yet.

In July 2013, Shigeno put an end to his Initial D manga in Weekly Young Magazine. The first chapter of that manga was released in North America by Tokyopop, and the entire manga is now available in English through Comixology and Kodansha USA Publishing. The manga served as inspiration for a number of successful video game franchises, live-action films, television anime series, and original video anime projects. A trilogy of anime films, the third of which debuted in February 2016, were more recently inspired by the manga.
