MY HERO ACADEMIA Season 5 Headed To Toonami On May 8th

English-dub anime fans of My Hero Academia who don't have a Funimation account can soon watch the latest season of Studio Bones' anime adaptation in just a few weeks.

We may already be two episodes in (three if you count episode 0) on My Hero Academia season 5 but Toonami watchers will have to wait a bit longer. Thankfully, it won't be too much longer as Funimation has confirmed that season 5 will premiere on Adult Swim's Saturday-night anime programming block on May 8.

This season, Class 1-B is aiming to dethrone Class 1-A as UA's premiere superhero class. Has all the mischief and attacks stemming from Stain and the League of Villains stunted the learning growth of Class 1-A. Having largely avoided all of these mishaps, Class 1-B has been able to focus on the Hero Academy's curriculum and there's a chance they may have surpassed what is supposed to be the superior group of students.

Starting on May 8th, the new Toonami lineup will consist of:

  • 12:00AM – Dragon Ball Super
  • 12:30AM – My Hero Academia
  • 1:00AM – Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma
  • 2:00AM – Fire Force
  • 2:30AM – Black Clover
  • 3:00AM – Naruto Shippuden
  • 3:30AM – Attack on Titan

My Hero Academia will be sliding into the slot currently occupied by Attack on Titan, which will move to the 3:30 AM slot, bumping Demon Slayer off the lineup entirely.

The rivalry between Class 1-A and Class 1-B heats up in a joint training battle. Eager to be a part of the hero course, brainwashing buff Shinso is tasked with competing on both sides. But as each team faces their own weaknesses and discovers new strengths, this showdown might just become a toss-up.

Midoriya inherits the superpower of the world’s greatest hero, but greatness won’t come easy.

What would the world be like if 80 percent of the population manifested superpowers called “Quirks”? Heroes and villains would be battling it out everywhere! Being a hero would mean learning to use your power, but where would you go to study? The Hero Academy of course! But what would you do if you were one of the 20 percent who were born Quirkless?
