After the event for the Sound! Euphonium anime was canceled this weekend all thanks to a typhoon that is presently climbing Japan, the series nonetheless gave out the latest teaser for its upcoming theatrical release of Sound! Euphonium: Special Edition Ensemble Contest, previewing the main theme "Ensemble" by TRUE.

The Sound! Euphonium will have its theatrical debut in Japan on August 4! It will be shown in select theaters throughout the country. Around the same time, the film will also be made available on Blu-ray in Japan. A third season was originally reported to be set in Kumiko's third year of school with Kumiko heading the club. The first tale of that is being presented in Sound! Euphonium: Special Edition 'Ensemble Contest,' which is the beginning of a new song in the melody that is Kyoto Animation's orchestrated anime series.

Spring in the first year of high school. Kumiko, a member of the brass band in junior high school, visits the high school brass band club with classmates Hazuki and Sapphire. There, she comes across Reina, her former classmate from junior high. Hazuki and Sapphire decide to join the club, but Kumiko can’t make up her mind. She recollects her experience with Reina at a competition in junior high school.
The original Sound! Euphonium novel series is published in Japan by Takarajimasha under their Takarajimasha Bunko banner. Yen Press also publishes an English language translation of the series. Tatsuya Ishihara is the director of the first two seasons of the anime series Sound! Euphonium, which is produced by Kyoto Animation. Naoko Yamada is the principal director of the series as well as the director of the spin-off film Liz and the Blue Bird. The animation studio Kyoto Animation contributed their talents to both the TV series and the films.
