Zack Snyder Says He'd Consider A Live-Action DRAGON BALL Z Film If "It Came Right"

In a recent interview Justice League and Army of the Dead director Zack Snyder shared that he's a huge anime fan and that he'd be game to helm a Dragon Ball Z film... under the right conditions.

Speaking to celebrity YouTuber Tyrone Magnus, director Zack Snyder did a deep dive into his recent hit Netflix zombie film, Army of the Dead while also touching on a little bit of Warner Bros. and Justice League and what it took to get the Snyder Cut made.  However, the conversation made an interesting left turn when Magnus gauged Snyder's interest in anime.

"Would you do an anime movie, and more specifically, Dragon Ball Z," queried Magnus around the 15:00 mark of the interview.

Snyder replied, "Umm, yeah I would consider that, if it came right. But definitely I would consider that- an anime remake or live-action. That would be fun because I love animation.  I've been watching a ton of anime with my kid, who's too young to watch it but we watch it anyway."

Given the global popularity of Dragon Ball and the fact that Hollywood has just about mined all the comic book properties worth adapting, don't be surprised when the focus shifts to anime and manga- especially if Tinseltown continues to struggle adapting video games.

Anime fans have long stated that the fight between the Kryptonians and the militarry was eerily similar to Nappa's rampage on Earth when he and Vegeta first arrived.  The battle between Zod and Superman (and the colossal amount of destruction) has also drawn comparisons to Goku and Vegeta's first fight during the Saiyan saga.

It's been over 10 years since the disastrous Dragonball Evolution was released in theaters. Do you think it's time that Toei Animation and Hollywood reconnect for a second attempt?

Could be a decent choice if he makes it brief and simple, and sticks to the looks of the characters.
