Interest in the world of anime may seem like a household interest these days, but there was a time when fans of Japanese animation gained little respect, particularly in the west. Due to that, there were a limited number of voice actors in the business, and many wound up playing a barrage of characters.

With a surge of popularity in anime over the past decade due to titles such as Dragon Ball Super, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan, there has been an increase in voice talents in the industry. Still, some long-time veterans go unrecognized due to physically remaining off-camera.

One such actor is Barry Yandell. Despite the extensive list of characters that he has and remains to lend his voice to, many general fans wouldn't recognize the range of projects he's in. Mainly this is because he has been in projects since the 90s.

Yandell has performed as Little Demon in Soul Eater despite voicing a much different character named Yoki in Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. In Barry's 30-year voice acting career, he voiced characters in titles like Initial D, Dragon Ball GT, Detective Conan, Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai 7, Darker Than Black, The Trial Of Druaga, Tales of Vesperia, Linebarrels of Island, Black Butler, One Piece, Code Geass, Borderlands 2, The Heike Story, Overlord, Fruits Basket, Goblin Slayer, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

That list is much longer in case you care to look up more about the wonderfully radiant Barry Yandell. In the meantime, you can watch out exclusive Ohayocon 2022 video interview for yourself and the full experience. Don't forget to share your thoughts in the normal spot!

While doing our interview rounds at Ohayocon 2022 we couldn't help but stop and chat with Barry Yandell. With the voice actor having voiced in shows like Dragon Ball Super and Attack on Titan it was an absolute honor.

We talked about which characters Ohio and the northwest, in general, most like and respond to better than others and his favorite voices that he provides to the anime world. Barry chats with me about his roles of Little Demon in Soul Eater, Yoki in Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and more.

We talk about his video game experience with the Borderlands and Tales franchises, The Heike Story, and other projects they have in the near future. It's the newest installment of my Ohayocon 2022 video interviews and I hope you enjoy what Barry has to say! If so, be sure to check out the other episodes in my new series!

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood and Dragon Ball Super are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
