Neon Genesis Evangelion gets Platinum Editions

ADV Films has announced that it will release the first of seven "Platinum" editions of the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV series in July. These Platinum editions, designed to appeal to collectors, will each be packaged in a limited (to first pressing only) edition metallic finish slipcover.

The 26-episode series has been officially revised and digitally re-mastered by original creators Gainax to produce, "...beautiful, vibrant video and crisp, sparkling new English and Japanese 5.1 surround sound audio."

Other features planned for the Platinum Editions are new cast and crew commentary, four bonus Directors' Cut episodes, and seven moving storyboards.
