Cowboy Bebop is one of the most renowned series of all time. We are, of course, talking about the 1998 anime series and not the 2021 live-action series. Netflix's Cowboy Bebop is certainly renowned but not in a good way.

Just a couple of weeks since the live-action adaptation premiered, after only one season, Netflix officially pulled the plug on the show. Viewership reportedly significantly dropped, and that's not to mention to all-round negative reception from critics and general audiences.

The critical response is something that Jet Black actor Mustafa Shakir admitted may have some merit in his response to the series' cancellation.

While Shakir took a respectable bow out from the role in his social media post, series writer Naomi Markman took to Twitter to say that we're "missing out" on the second season, as the person who has seen more of it than anyone else. Then again, Markman clearly also stood by the quality of the first and now only season of Netflix's Cowboy Bebop — so that's not saying much.

Check out Markman's tweet below. What do you think about the series' cancellation? Has Markman piqued your interest; would you have liked for Netflix's Cowboy Bebop to have gotten a second season?
