With the runaway success of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime and manga and the record-breaking returns of the Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba: THE MOVIE ~ Mugen Train~ film, the sky has been the limit for the franchise. With no direct plans for the future of the anime yet and the manga's conclusion, it has been up to various forms of entertainment to keep fans entertained until more news arrives.
While there has been a confirmed console game on the way, based on the franchise, the release date is still a ways away, and there is not a lot of details that are ready to be shown to the public yet either. The main hope to slice through the stagnation has been Aniplex's new mobile game, Demon Slayer: Blood-Stench Battle Royale.
Described as an asymmetrical survival action game, the smartphone game has players controlling various demons and demon slayers as they fight against one another. Initially slated for a release this year, the game's site announced that the title would be going on an indefinite hiatus to focus on making sure the game's quality is improved.
There has been no word on a new release date, of course, but considering it was meant to come out sometime before the end of the year, the wait may not be as long as previously thought. Make sure to share your thoughts on the news in the comments below!
